Maturity will grow in you ♥ 1:48 PM

Maturity...

It will not be immediate but as you grow you will mature.
Everyone has its stages in life. As for me, I had to grow mature at a very young age.

8 years old when I lost my father. My mother only had me to grow old with and to support her when she gets older. At that age, what can you asked more in life but to grow up? Well, whether I like it or not, I had too.

I’m just 22 now and I realized how lacking I am in so many ways. I just lost my uncle yesterday. Though we were not related by blood but we were close as a family.

His passing made me realize the holes in myself. There was so many things that I was lacking as the oldest in my whole family. And I realize in times like this, I needed to be more mature. Death is not a game, it was reality; slapped on my face.

I knew at that moment, how short life could be. How much each and every moment of your life is precious. How your family are the ones to be there for you when no else will be.

One slap was all I need to realize so much in one day. I saw my responsibilities as a daughter, a wife, a mother and as the eldest in my family.

“As your father has passed away, you as the oldest son will take the role of a father in the family. To lead the family, properly.” With those words said by the Uztadz, he father’s responsibility as a father, a husband; falls on him the oldest one. Though I’m a daughter and my responsibility as one is not as high and mighty as a son. But I knew what I needed to do.

I may not be a male, but I knew that there wasn’t anyone else to take that role except me. I, then, wanted to learn. I wanted to learn things I didn’t know; I wanted to take the responsibilities even though I know how much weigh it will be on my shoulder. But I want to have some initiative to know as I knew life will be short. You will never know when you will die or any of your family members will. So I prepared myself for the worst before it falls on me unexpectedly.
